이날 청구회 회원들은 여학생들과 사관생도들로부터 대단한 우대를 받았다. 가난한 옷차림을 낮추어보는 시선도 없었고, 가난한 옷차림을 부끄러워하는 마음의 구김새도 없이 '신나게' 놀았던 하루였다. 육사 생도들은 육군사관학교로 꼬마들을 초대하겠다는 약속을 하였고, 여학생들은 '청구문고'에 도서를 기증하겠다는 약속을 했다. 오후 5시경 수유리 종점에서 헤어질 때까지 우리는 줄곧 의젓하게(?) 처신하면서 청구회의 위신을 손상시킴이 없도록 자제하기도 하였다. 그래서였던지 그 후 동행인들로부터 각종의 찬사와 격려를 받았다.

That day, the members of Chung-Gu Hoe got a special treat from both the female students and the cadets.  There were neither eyes looking down on their poor apparel, nor crumpled minds being ashamed of such apparel.  It certainly was a day when they all had an 'exciting' time.  Cadets from the Military Academy promised to invite the little kids to their campus, the female students from Ewha Women's University promised to donate some books to the 'Chung-gu(Green Hill) Library.'  Until we parted at about 5 o'clock in the afternoon at Su-yoo Ri bus terminal, we had behaved with dignity and controlled ourselves not to impugn our honour.  It was perhaps because we were members of such dignity that we got compliments and encouragements from our companions.
